You use a tool called a bead roller to make those. Very cool idea!

Is that cable guide stock, or is it one of your modifications? _________________ My 70 beetle was totaled Now to build the Ghia I always wanted. Rest in peace Ruby, I will miss you. Hello <insert Ghia name here>! |

We just used 1/4 tube aluminium pipe, easy to work with. |

In painting all the little bits you find some surprises. I had already (myself) cleaned inside the tank and painted the outside a nice shinny black but that was about 7 years ago so I decided to paint the same color as the rest of the car. After being sand blasted we found some holes ... lucky to find them now than have issues after all assembled and first tank of fuel went in. We will repair and get painted.

Someone sent me a PM asking about the dash. so here is what I did.
I saw on THE Samba an early dash section which I got . Then cut out the lower section that housed the radio. I wanted it to look original so we included as much as we could. Found an that we needed to add a small section to get the gauges to fit and it took more time to get it looking correct. But happy with result.

Paint: VW anthracite? Audi Nimbus Grey? Porsche slate grey? It'll be one sharp Ghia with those wheels and the paint color. Have you considered a two-toned roof in cream/off white, like was offered in the early to mid '60's? |

But I watched him apply the second . wish I had the skills.

I really like the Bomber style seat but our laws here would make it near impossible to get approved.
I'm tossing up between two colours, I was waiting to see the car all painted so I got a better feel for it.
or
As our laws here let me use the original low back seats I may just need to get the original seats custom done with a bit more side support. If I change the seats I will need to use a style with a head rest. |

Hi Nicholas, I missed seeing your car but heard all about it. Great idea to keep in contact and make contact with the other local Ghia owners. |

Go for this color, with off-white edge piping-
IMO would look spectacular with the body color. |
