I'm hoping someone has run into this already and has a brilliant solution. I've searched and learned a lot about mud flaps, but can't find specifics for installing on a 79 CA bus with the one-year driver's side heat exchanger and dump tubes attached at the motor mount where the bracket is supposed to attach.

You can see how far the dump tube sticks out due to the way the heat exchanger juts out to make room for the cat.

I'm using NOS mud flaps with the correct bracket.

We still the first world? We just got downgraded to a flawed democracy, so I'm pretty sure we can't use that one anymore.

Seriously though. It's your fault for selling me the damn dump tubes!

Haha, nice. Sorry about making your bus too nice. Hope you can figure something out for mounting them. For anyone else, As comparison here is a standard 75-78 federal boxes with the heat dump tubes. Definitely looks different than yours. Don't mind the mud

The 79 CA heat exchanger sits way closer to the tire than the 78. I have the same issue and I think the only solution is a different mount that attaches above the stock location and drops down to catch the angled plate that comes from the wheel well. I am not even sure that the mud flap won't touch the heat exchanger, it is that tight. I am a little hesitant to runs chains given how close the heat exchanger is to the tire.

I was hoping to have this done but the weather has been too cold for my old bones. At least the snow has gone but maybe some in a few days. Last winter this time I was installing the BN4 in the driveway. Not supposed to be this cold in Southwestern BC.

I put in an oxygen sensor attached to an Innovate LC-2 and an Air/fuel ratio gauge up front to monitor and tune engine mixture.

There is a bung and plug in the side of the muffler, that was my original location, but moved it to a hotter location with better flow.

I love it! Happy to start a thread about it or send pics but dont want to hijack this one.
