1990 Westfalia: No reverse

hi my reverse stop working on my vanagon,,,,could that be internal or somethings else...thanks

If it came on suddenly, likely something in the linkage. Either where the shifter meets the floor (common) or under the van in the shifter box or center shifter connection. First step is t see if you can manually put it in reverse at the trans selector shaft to make sure its nothing internal to the trans. If that checks out, then you will need to work your way back to the shifter. Without many details or history on this, i put my money on linkage needing adjusting
