After a deep cleaning i found that there is a number under the rear seats that fits the number behind the spare wheel. What do we suggest now? That the spare part is something between the hand break and the gear lever? |
Again, post pics.
Of all you have.
Body, chassis, other parts etc.
People here around know the stuff.
They can tell you what it is, when it was made and how well it fits together.
They can tell if a number is the original one or something somebody had punched in later. _________________ Master of my domain! |

The engine number is not original.
That looks selfmade.
The chassis seems to be an exchage one, swapped out by VW for some reason and got the KT exchange number in front and the original number of the old chassis in the rear.
With better over all pics of the floor it might be possible to put a date on it.
Does the car has the small tank and the metal glove boxes still?
A 1947 body is a rare thing. No matter if the chassis is younger. _________________ Master of my domain! |

Hallo all,
I saw your perfect photo shots en red carefully all the comments. The posts created an enthusiasm seeing them an admiring this nice made of Volkswagen 1945-46 chassis/frame number with a body model style 1947-50 with missing the original engine, therefore I would like to inform this forum that I am the owner of this beautiful model and any relevant information needed on this discussion can be available.

Yep. It's currently changed hands and parts are being sourced from everywhere in order to get it restored soonish. _________________ 1963 Karmann Ghia - Sold

It looks like the KT number is stamped in the same place as the welded on tag for the VIN number would go. It makes me wonder if they all have KT numbers underneath the VIN tag that's welded on.. Has anyone ever had reason to remove their tag for a look under it? Doubtful I guess! _________________ To catch a fish, you must first think like a fish.... |
