Thank you, I like that picture as well. I do wish my windshield wouldn't have had so many bug splats on it though, leaving fuzzy spots. |
Photoshop! It would make a nice piece on the wall! _________________ Jimbo

Yes, specifically the Edit tab, "full", and clone stamp tool. I use it all the time. You look for an area of the photo that is "clean" and has the same background as your splat area. Select a clone stamp style (size, fuzziness), then apply that stamp onto the splat area. If you don't have Photoshop or other editing SW with a similar feature and want me to clean up that specific shot, send me a PM. It'll take less than 10 minutes. |

70 mile drive in my '77 Beetle near West Point Military Academy in southern New York this afternoon, on the west side of the Hudson River. Route 218, known as the Storm King Highway, heads past the north gate of West Point, and winds along the face of Storm King Mountain. There's a small turnout at the highest point which can accomodate no more than 4 small cars. View is looking south.
On the way home I detoured into the village of Highlands on the southern border of West Point. At the West Point Museum there is an M4 Sherman tank near the front gate. Ein kleiner panzer. |

Took wifey and father-in-law on an about 120 mile round trip cruise in NOVA yesterday to one of NOVA's wineries along the northernmost section of VA. Beautiful fall day out here, not quite like Bear Mountain and the Hudson Valley but still nice.

Stopped for a late lunch at a small diner in Lovettsville...I think that was the name of the town.
Had a gas station mishap on the way back - the stupid pump didn't auto-shut off and poured probably a quart of gas out the car and onto my shoes before I caught it. Bad luck for my ratty paint job and made for a terribly stinky drive home. Oh well.... _________________ Eventually, "we are what we pretend to be.’”

It’s very nice here if you like overcast with light rain and falling temps. Started around 70 degrees and will be in 40s by tonight 😀 That said I got in the car drove it five miles then parked it out by this tree in the backyard, I may or may not take it for a spin.
After waiting a couple hours I hopped in and took off for the Skelly Lodge. I’ll provide a link, check it out😀
And here we are. http://www.skellylodge.com/history.cfm
I’m up on the main highway coming back running strong at 80.
My ending mileage I guess I probably went 50 miles or so and I filled the tank before I put it to bed.

Many great pictures from everyone. I enjoy seeing where all the Beetles are going, so much fun My Bug is coming back to life after uncovering and repairing seven major issues. I hope to do Chris Vallone's Classic VW cruise in the Bear Mountain area next weekend. Still testing the car - fingers crossed. _________________ 1956 Beetle Ragtop: My Father's car

Lost- glad to hear of your ongoing progress on your Beetle. I also plan on attending part of that cruise as well this Sunday, in my Beetle. Pls make sure you look me up. If I'm not at my car at moment, ask Chris V or his dad to point me out. Wishing you a good drive to get there. |

My Beetle is packed for a two hundred mile trip to NY State:
Engine analyzer
Timing light
Tools to gap the points and valves
12 point drive to tighten CV bolts
Wrench to connect/disconnect the hot lead from alternator to coil
Wire cutter/stripper, needle nose pliers, and electrical tape
Duct tape
Oil and funnel
Empty 2 gallon gas can, my fuel gauge doesn't work
Fire extinguisher
Beach Boys CD
