There aren't many threads about this and I know that before I did the job I researched on here to figure things out. I tried making a video for those visual learners. Hope it helps. I'm not saying this is the recommended procedure to do this but the Bentley is pretty vague on the topic.

Feel free to add your comments and tips about the job. I found that once you dig into it it's pretty easy. _________________ Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.

Nice! Just 1 comment - I've found that tapping them into the case as shown often causes the Orings to get small nicks/cuts around their edges. I now wiggle them into place much like you removed them. The side to side seems to help the seals stay intact as they slide home.. |

Just a suggestion...
I have a pair of these that allow me to use the 90º against the engine case to gently leverage out the push rod tubes. Might have been one of those harbor Freight purchases for cheap money.

The use of Locktite 565 (sort of "liquid teflon") works well on the O-rings to allow them to not leak oil and remain flexible. |

Your T-stat (bellows) has failed. It's in the open position (engine cold). It should be contracted. _________________ 1972 Westy Hardtop/Type-4 2056cc
