I would think 200hp in a buggy will be scary fast. |
Valves were replaced, with what I don't know.
I honestly hope it freaks the heck out of me. |
200hp in a buggy is FUN with a capital FUN. That thing is going to be a monster Brent, you should have enough torque to lift the front wheels ALL the way up. Serious displacement. Hope I get to Alta. so we can hook up at a show some time.

My car isn't set up for wheelies, tank in the front, so low to the ground. But hey its going to be fun finding out what it's going to do.
Looking forward to meeting up with you some day. With the gearing i chose ill be able to cruise up to Edmonton very nicely. How many fuel stops... well that's another story LOL. |
and if your bored you could make a treip down south. i know someone that would love to see your buggy in person and check that motor out. Waterton is really beautiful in the summer |

Glasser, don't you wish you'd ordered this engine when the US/CAN dollar was on par.
I restored a 356 replica back in 2010, when the dollars were on par and I'm now restoring my newly purchased dune buggy.
It's A LOT more expensive this time around.
When I had my 356 replica I lived close to the US border, so I could have stuff shipped to a parcel depot on the US side of the border.
Shipping within the US is fairly reasonable.
Now I live on Vancouver Island so everything has to be shipped US to CAN and boy, is it expensive.
One of the few downsides to living in the great white north. |
Man I hear you on that. Adding 25% sucks!!!! _________________ Brent

Ah! So that was where we went wrong!
About 30 years ago the Missus and I set out to see Waterton, arrived late in the evening and went to bed in the camper. The next morning we had a foot and a half of wet snow to shovel off the roof! We lit out for BC and never looked back.
So - May 28 is not summer there? |

You got that right! It all looks rosy until you add the exchange, shipping, import duties and tax. Then it's "Holy Crap!". |

Dyno results are in.....
Wasn't as good as I had hoped but very respectable. 186.91 HP at 5500 rpm.
The torque is crazy! 200.79 ft.lbs. at 4000rpm.
Going to pull like a freight train! |
200 ft/lbs of torque in a light buggy....WOW!
Torque rules! Years ago I owned a 1990 Miata, with a Mustang 302 engine stuffed under the hood. It had lots of power, but it was the torque that I really enjoyed.
I could cruise around with the engine revving at 1700 rpm and accelerate briskly without gearing down. |

200ft/lbs torque!!!!! killer bud, that thing should drive straight up walls!!! 186hp is nothing to sneeze at, and that will be an honest 186 without the Orange County Correction Factor which would add at least another 25hp

Those Torque numbers are sweet! I bet that will be fun in your light weight buggy!
135 main jet seems small to me with a 200 Air for Calgary. I was running a little lean when we passed through Calgary last year and I run 200 Airs with 140 mains on a smaller engine.
Once you get it in the buggy, I suggest making a couple runs on open road and reading the plugs just to be safe. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Roger that! I'll be watching things like a hawk. Greg did ask me about the elevation where I live . I'll confirm the jets with him (Keep an eye on the plugs as well). _________________ Brent
