Aircleaner, mushroom to T??

Anyone have data on when they went to the T (coffee can) air cleaner? And if so, was it on all models, or did they start with the deluxes only as they did on some other parts? Trying to find out what would be correct for a Sept '49.

I have not a real clue about regular splits but the design on Hebmuller T air cleaner with swanneck and part nr 14. was finished end august 49. Mid Oct 49, the first batch of type 14 T filters was sent to VW. I think they had the regular T filter already in stock at that time.

Think "felt cone filter" = T air cleaner.
