Just need to fix some PO issues, but overall? Solid, clean and straight.

It will get early bumpers, non stock wheels of some sort and lowered. Maybe some fogs on the front bumper, but pretty much the rest will stay as is.

Looks good. Putting the original side trim back on with that black paint would look good too.

I like Squarebacks and I like black, but it looks like a hearse.

But my opinion doesn't matter as long as you're happy.

Very nice! I can't wait to see it after you're done setting it up.

Drove it 8 miles round trip to work today. 55mph 4 lane. Speedo works (new concept to me). Dome light does not work. Back up lights do not work. Headlamp on driver's side pointed to the sky (fixed now). Wipers work, blades were shot (now fixed). Heater heats. Fresh air fan blows. Tracks straight. Clutch cable needs adjusted a touch. Rear view mirror plastic frame is crumbling. Fuel filler gasket has that same fume issue that many have. No keys for the doors/hatch. Cigar lighter doesn't work. Brakes need bled as soon as the rain stops.

Biggest issue? PPO put an FI replacement carb on the car. You know, the one that requires a hole cut in the lid Rolling Eyes It also had major air leaks at the manifold to runner boots. All 4 were not even finger tight on either clamp. So, it is running better now that those are tight, but man... that carb sucks on the 1-2 and 3-4 shift.

Other than that, still a nice basis for the start of a project.

I need to find rocker trim and clips for certain. Might add fat side trim later.

Cool

This morning was cool and damp, not cold. No start. Sad. Cranks, but no fire then flooded. My guess is that the electric choke is not set correctly. I'll check it when I get home. I HATE, HATE, HATE this stupid carb. Not just because it isn't set up correctly, but because it wastes sooooooo much space.

One way or another, it needs to be injected.

There were, for non-US market late models.

FI was standard for US and Canadian models, optional for the European models. Carburetors were standard on Euro cars to the end of production.

Huh. Learn something every day.

Still don't like carbs ... especially when they intrude into the cabin.

Amen! I held out for an injected car, and so glad I did.

Stupid, stupid idiot PPO! The carb's electric choke wasn't hooked up AND it was set to almost full closed all the time. DOH!
To top it off, the choke screws were so tight, i destroyed them to get them loose enough to adjust them. Finally got it set up so that the chokes go from closed to open in about 40 seconds. Warm idle is about 900rpm.

Runs better now, but OH MY HECK!

I need to find some dual carbs. The PPO removed all the FI stuff, including the wiring harness/brain. So, carbs...
