That dash will clean up easily with some good rubbing and some TR3. Doesn't look like you will need a ton of metal replacement. What's your plans for the roof skin? _________________ GFK

Love the work- gotta ways to go but good start- rust not so bad and 2x4 and a mallet should put the roof back- but do see a roof clip in your future.
Looks like my old bus from 1974 - it was let go in Perth, so could be.

Has she been over on the passenger side by the scrapes and ding in the beltline? Whats the plans for the roof? Had a look at your oval in your gallery, that came up nice too! |

Yep she sure has been on it side and roof and I think also the drivers side I reckon
Cargo doors and hinges need a bit of work to get them to align and shut again hence why the passenger side b pillar is rooted
Roof well the first idea was to go down the grumpy metal rag top path but after a bit looking into it, it looked like it was going to be a 8000- 10000 au dollar exercise. So I've now decided to cut out the rust and holes in the middle of the roof and replace with a section of a kombi roof I've just bought plus 2 roof supports that I also need
At the end of the day I decided that I would rather put the money into a crazy arse motor for the bus than a rag top roof, there both cool but I think I would get more pleasure out of some big HP than looking at the stars while I sleep in the bus
And after seeing what my mate was able to build me for my chook shed oval motor (see oval thread under 56 chook shed oval ) I'm looking forward to what we come up with for the mango
Also here's a photo of the passenger side door you can see the scuff marks down the side from when it was rolled

Not a lot of progress on bus but here's a update
Had a go at cleaning up the passenger side door and knocking out some dents and also cleaned up the door top
Also found a bit of sign writing on the bus one morning while having a coffee with the sun shining in, hopefully this might give me a lead to the og owner
(K Reilly ) under the window behind the b pillar if u look hard
Also been doing some more shed renos to the et door shed with a lean too going on the back to store some more VW and parts

Couldn't keep walking past the dash for much longer without giving it a clean up, pretty happy with how it's going to come up with a littl bit more love further down the track

Man, I love a clean, uncut dash! Keep at it! _________________ ,,Wenige Menschen denken, und doch wollen alle entscheiden.'' -der Alte Fritz

Was pretty stoked too scores these bars for my bus
Happy to be corrected but I think these in og paint mango was only 6-12 month only timeline so too be able to find a matching set was a huge score and the also to get a front mango emblem just topped it off nicely
