Welded and ground down a lick of paint
It would seem my repair piece might need a cut and shut it seem a bit out
Confirmed on a window top
If only it went back together this easy
|
It would seem I owe BBT a apology there A and B pillar connector is correct fit for a straight bus/ window top, I just need them to make one for a rolled bent bus/ window top

Started having a play with this repair piece
After some more hits with big hammer the gutter line was getting closer to flat
Gaps are a bit out and hitting the window top
Getting my repair piece to match my bent bus and window top
A cut and shut
Not perfect but a compromise was had
Weld that sucker in tomorrow |

Mounted some castor wheels under the bus, getting ready to roll it onto a trailer to go to the sandblaster next week
Also achieved the near impossible
Removed the hand brake lever pin
Only took me a year and half since it first had a date with oxy torch

Hoping to save my inner dog leg with some welding love
This looks to be the only chassis repair needed
Got some etch primer on it to seal it up

I have the same bad spot on the bus I’m working on. I have the inner valance piece which I’m going to section and fit the lower half in if possible. The lower edge of the nose needs work, but not enough to warrant removing the entire area. Good luck I’m looking forward to seeing how you attack it. The frame looks great! |

Mate I feel honoured that your asking me about how to fix this section
I feel like I'm grade 1 at school on split bus repairs and your just finishing your PHD and about to do your honours
Not sure yet was just going patch it out but maybe leaning toward replacing inner and outer while trying to leave the front nose on
Got a couple of mates I'll pose the question too
Not sure if I've seen this repair done on any build threads while leaving the nose on
Cheers bud |

I replaced the inner and outer valance on my 15 Window, and on the 21window bus I'm working on without cutting the lower part of the nose skin. I have pictures in both threads from where and how I did it. I'm not sure where the info is in the threads, though. It wasn't easy, but definitely doable.
You'll get it no problem! Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
Dave |

Fitting the conduit pipes in for the cables
Question is the clutch pipe welded to the front, middle, back top hats as well as the I beams
When I pulled it all apart it didn't look like it was but I've been told too weld it all the way along.

Working on fitting the cargo door sill and also started fitting the floor to make sure there enough clearance at the bottom of the cargo doors when shut
Looks like I got some serious plug welding and grinding coming up
