Crazy, but I like it. You said you swapped it out with something else. Vanagon? _________________ Wanted : January '57 Palm Green Sand Green Bus Parts - Middle and Rear Seat Frames - flat back. I have original seat covers but would consider covered frames.

barnacle bus!
I'd be very interested to see how it looks with paint removed. Hopefully the next owner will post. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

I feel like if I look at it any longer... I should take an antibiotic.
It looks like it sat at the bottom of a bat cave or under a bird's nest for too long. _________________ aka: Evan

As horrific as it looks, I would have to keep it that way and just get it running...I don't know why, it is just an instant icon. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

i wonder how it would hold.
would it flake off with pressure washer?
would it just fall off on the first bump?
If no windows and no door closing is your thing, i guess it could work. _________________ 1964 Turkis Flipseat |

I wonder if you could dip it...chemically removing the gunk would be the least invasive.... _________________ 1965 walkthrough Sundial |

That's what we are thinking about doing. Do you know anyone who does this? _________________ Chris Wright

When you dip it the inaccessible internal areas will remain raw metal. It may be worth it anyway on this one, that's just something to consider.
I bet a few hours with a pressure good washer will knock a lot of that off. Or at least it will tell you more of what you're up against. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

Drive it around and it will probably disintegrate as you go. |

STRIP IT ?!?!
That bus is a patina monster! Literally!!
I'd clear coat that B, put in a new interior, get it running and lower it on alloys!!
Then drive the crap out of it.
maybe someone can photo shop that look. . . |

I think it's cause of the fish oil that's in the paint has kept the metal from rusting out and it's scraping right off. |
