Just mounted a temp tire on my spare 15x5 EMPI BRM. Just wanted to put it on here as a reference in case someone wanted to do the same. I was curious if it was possible and well, it is.

What about a side shot to see how it fits that way.

I have a pair of these tires in my barn that came off the front of a '66 squareback, if anybody wants some?

football guy in HS had a bad ass elcamino, and a 56 oval. Slammed with pulled torsion bars, 145's on the back, temps on the front, and only 3 lug nuts on each wheel. WTF? HoodRide before it even existed, early 90's

Yeah, I've seen people run temps and they look super sketchy. I haven't seen one blow yet, but I've heard the horror stories. Fred looks like he has the right idea, use it for what it was meant for, a temporary spare.

Didn't he state it was for his spare? Lots of modern cars have skinny "Temps" as a spare tire.

Yes he was using one for a spare, but this '66 sunroof square from Oroville, CA had 125X70 & 145X60 on OG Fuchs when we bought it. Twisted Evil

I've seen a few Bugs running T105/70D15 temporary spares. That is a tiny tire, about 3-1/4 inch tread width and 20 inches tall.

Even the "regular" passenger tire size P135R15 makes for sketchy handling on the front of a Bug. I found the P155/60R15 handles lot better, and is shorter, than a 135.

Through specialty tire shops you can get a "regular" passenger tire in the P125R15 size. I don't recommend such a narrow tread tire, but at least it is not a temporary spare.
