Hey Guys! Ran across what appears to be a 74 tin top Westie today... The owner says 73 but it has plaid interior and that little inflatable spare tire under the sink cabinet. Body sound, no rust I could see. Has a fabric headliner and ceiling- mounted A/C. Not sure about the engine size but it is not running at this time. I know- post some pics- but I only had a few minutes to check it out in the back of this guys shop before the group I was with was ready to move on... I don't need another project but I'm intrigued. I'm familiar with the desirability of the earlier Westies as I have a 67 and a 71, but what about a 74? I see a few in the classifieds but of course there's quite a price range. $1,500 too much to pay? |

By ceiling mounted A/C I don't mean a roof-top hack job... It's one of those just-behind-the-front-seats, above your head types. |

A solid rust free body is worth 1500 bucks. |

Sounds like a '74. A '73 would look like this:

Thanks for your responses! Couple more questions before I go back and check it out this weekend... Regarding the fabric headliner- did some tin tops have this feature? I figured they were all the birch plywood type. Also, opinions on the A/C. Plus or minus? (Remember, I'm in Oklahoma!). Finally, what engine options were available in 74? |
