PLA extrusion temp is 180 -220C Pla Plus is 220 - 240C
guess I will have to do some testing myself before I can sell any and guarantee them |

PLA is a common material used for 3D printing but it does not hold up well with temperature, it will deform. |
PLA gets soft at or around 140F (Glass transition temp). How hot would one guess this inside of the cluster gets driving on a hot day into the sun? Or in a parking lot exposed? Honest question, not doubting here.
I printed mine in PLA too. _________________ '87 GL w/ Reimo top |

they are not regular PLA.. they are PLA PLUS its better more ridged and melts at higher temp.. he says he has stuff in his truck and we are in florida.. so I will guarantee them to 150 degree and I will pop one in an old toaster oven I have to see what temp they do deform at.. |

All good. The machine I have access to only had stock PLA, so was I sort of wondering out loud. I may try and get some ABS ones built via another machine a college has.
Great solution regardless! _________________ '87 GL w/ Reimo top |

Ok I thought I was going to have to test this stuff.. turns out I have been all along.. the building on left.. I printed in ABS then post clean up makes it shinny.. the crescent wrench on right was printed in PLA PLUS by the same guy printing the speedo fix parts.. both of these items have been in the console of my 92 XJ and now my 98 ZJ both jeeps are black for over a year.. ad as you can tell the wrench looks perfect and yes it actually works... this guy printing these speedo parts is top notch and said not to even worry about warping

Let us know. My odometer has been out now for 500 miles and I'm hoping this will cure it once and for all! _________________ '87 Westy 1.8T Conversion, Orignal Owner, European Delivery @ Westfalia factory in Weidenbrueck.

Just left ACE Hardware.. Needed few allen screws for boring bar .. got new nuts and bolts for the speedo fix.. so everyone gets new hardware with order .. did not want you to have to hunt these up as they are tiny.. I have some small padded envelopes I am going to ship out first order and see if its cheaper.. if so I will be refunding a few dollars .. to those that paid 17 |

you know what sucks about threads like this is that after I read them, my van causes me need them. I don't even know how it knows since I don't check the Samba in the van :-/ _________________ 83.5 Westy with Subaru 2.5, 4 spd manual, center seat, COLD A/C on 134a!, Winter camp heated with an Espar B4 gasoline furnace
