Hello. Always happy to answer questions. Thanks for keeping the thread interesting. Very Happy

The posted drawing and its dimensions where not used in the building of the Jig

Notice the measurements on the drawing of the body do not relate to the measurements used to build the Jig (drawing measurements are specific to spots only found on the body)

The *comparison of the drawing would need to be made to a body, not the Jig. Here is a example of the difference between the measurements called out on the body to those needed to construct the Jig.

Totally awesome. The restoration approach is obviously high tech and every inch of the original specifications and dimensions of the split will have to be addressed by so looking on how your restoration process works. That '47 is in good hands!

I appreciate that. I do admit I enjoy getting the majority of the details as exact as I feel the factory would have strived for.
One struggle I do have is constructing authentic panels that were originally pressed by a machine. Some dies left wrinkles that are very difficult to replicate when shaping the panel by hand. Not every I is dotted and not every T is crossed but we pick alot of small battles but stay focused on the big picture at the same time. (Which includes not letting the scope of the project get out of hand, it's a fine line) I'm truly glad you are enjoying it. So are we. Very Happy

The dimensions in question would be de, qr, c, b and a.

I'm sorry if I'm not making sense. Lol.

I did find one reference for the Body dimensions on the wheel arch fixture we made. (Factory spec de) is 1200mm on our fixture.

I apologize if I was confused about the question. Smile

After we set the riser blockes for strength and and to check for accuracy we attached the rear quarters today. We are very happy with the results. (We are still holding out for a worthy Kar to use to add more locating points to the rear of the Jig like we did the front)

Using the basic body dimensions spec FU, we set each rear quarter to 1134mm from the cross member to the furthest bumper bracket securing nut.

He removed it from an OG apron. If you look about halfway down on page two you will see one that they made for another car. Stellar work but he said it took a long time to make so he went with a good OG part.

Thanks Chris. That's is correct. We harvested it from a American spec 58. I appreciate your support and interest bro. 😀
