My condolences.
I think we all share your sadness. Thank you for sharing so many of Tuna's adventures. She will be missed by all. _________________ '84 Westy, '93 Subaru ej22 and Subarugears 5speed

I’m with Alika- this is really sad news. Your adventures with Tuna have been a consistent bright spot for many years. Thanks for sharing some of the joy of your time together with all of us. _________________ 1986 Westy Weekender

It was a warm and beautiful spring afternoon. First, we went to her favorite park...
Then for a quiet walk down a shady street where she got to eat all the doggie treats...
Then out the the old French trading fort park to slowly walk the fields by the river for as long as she could...
And finally, downtown for one last picture before going to the Purdue University Veterinary Oncology Hospital where Luna peacefully took her last flight, surrounded by comfort, love, and tears.

Just stumbled across this thread via some cross-links. Ended-up "binge-reading" it over the past few weeks as a late evening ready before bedtime.
Lotsa great stories and sharing here. Thanks for posting them.
...and lotsa future opportunities for amazing midwest sightseeking. Yer gonna miss the mountains but wait until you hit the upper great lakes areas of WI, MI, etc. I hope to see the vanagon (and possibly Tuna) with a Mackinac Bridge back-drop or next to the sand dune cliffs along Lake Michigan at some point.
Every part of our country (and the world) has it's unique outdoor treasures. Looking forward to seeing more midwest adventures here. |

Thanks! We're getting settled in, but there's much to do, so we're not getting out and exploring much.
Plus, Tunes had to go in for a follow-up surgery, which took her out of the game for awhile again. But, she's better now.

I had a flat coat retriever that the snow would ball up in his feet if you walked him in the snow. He would wait by the door and hold one foot up at a time so you could put his boots 🥾 on him to walk him in the winter. Too bad I wear out my dogs so quickly. That one only lasted 16 years. We still miss him. |
