I'm new to working on beetles. I have no idea what the brake warning light is for and I'm having trouble finding one.

What year is the car and is it a standard beetle or a super beetle

The light warns you if either circuit in your brake system is not working properly. In later beetles, the light also shows you that you left your parking brake on.
