I'm looking for the clips that hold on the vanagon diesel airbox. Have the 2 short ones but missing the 4long ones.
Also need the airbox hose that is oval where it attaches to the airbox. Any ideas where these can be located? Cheers, Paolo. |

Check with Brickwerks, in the UK. I think they have both parts you're looking for. _________________ ******************************************

I looked on Brickwerk's site, briefly. Now, I'm not sure sure about the airbox clips... _________________ ******************************************

I believe the long clips are 068129797B.
The rubber intake elbow/hose is 068129967 (or 068129967A?).
Both are NLA from VW, so your best bet may be eBay, US or Germany.
Edited to correct dimensions:
You can also fabricate a replacement for the intake elbow using off-the-shelf reinforced automotive ducting. This is somewhat complicated by the fact that each end requires a different diameter. As I recall, 3" ID ducting is a very snug fit over the air filter box, requiring a DIY step-down adaptor at the connection to the cyclone/water separator, which is something closer to 2.5"

A great replacement airbox hose is an exhaust bellows from a Mercruiser stern drive. Just fit one to my 82 Diesel.

I'm having the same problem with trying to find the longs clips. Anybody claiming to have them wants $$ and then $$$ to ship them to Ontario. So I went with a cheaper solution that seems to be working out so far -- zip ties/cable ties.
A 6" zip tie will make a loop that will fit (with a little fiddling) over the the plastic catches of the air filter box. Nice and snug, and holding up fine, no slip.
Yes. That is a real 068129797B clip in the photo at upper right. Everything else is a humble zip tie.
Zip ties are one of my favorite things.
