I only own a couple Hazet tools. Just too expensive for me. So my humble home shop is mostly Craftsman (older USA versions), Husky, Pittsburgh Pro (Harbor Freight), and some local FLAPs stuff. It works and fine for me.
I always loved the sleek satin finish of tools from europe like Hazet, but spending $200 to $300 on one socket set of size like 3/8" as example, I just do not have the dough to do that.
Stumbled across Teng Tools the other day. A company from Sweden that is popular overseas. The tools are designed in Sweden but made in Taiwan. Some decent tools coming from Taiwan these days so I am OK with that.
www.tengtoolsusa.com
This is the set I purchased:
https://www.tengtoolsusa.com/promos-bundles/18-piece-1-2-inch-drive-12-point-socket-set.html
Pulled the trigger on 3 socket sets.... 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". Only cost me $199 total. No tax and no shipping. Teng Tools just opened offices in USA this year and are now selling direct to the public.
The tools have that euro feel and look. Nice modular cases that have removable lids so you can connect them in your tool boxes. Each socket is labelled and has a place to go back into. Decent 72 gear ratchet and nice satin finish.
I decided to give them a try.
Maybe some of you are like me that dream of Hazet but can't afford it. Maybe something like Teng may work.
I am happy with what I own... Craftsman and Husky being most my tools, but I plan on adding some more Teng over time. Will look sweet in my humble home shop.

Good tip
Teng Tools have great reputation here in Norway. I asked some different mechanics about their opinion and all I have have heard is positive things. They are sold with lifetime warranty here.
Six months ago we hired some new installers at our company and decided to change all our previous tools as it was various quality. Now all of our installers are using Teng Tools and they are really happy with them. |

Very cool!
They seem very well made and same here... I asked around and they seem to get good reviews. Been around a while too.
Hope the USA office does well.

I have loads of older tools, I am 65 after all, but lately started buying Gearwrench, they are more than just the ratcheting wrenches. Good quality, and other folks in the car hobby locally say good things about them. |

I really like the looks of the newer 72 gear ratchets.

I have not taken mine apart but from this video, appears maybe a snap ring of some-kind? Then it just pushes out.

I purchased it on eBay some 3 to maybe 4 years ago.
I don't see them advertised on eBay anymore so guessing whomever made and sold them does not any more or at least not on eBay.
Googling Tool Trolley you see the Hazet and Beta trolley's but not the knock-offs from a few years back.

A couple of tools to add to your must have list.....in the world of pliers and side cutters....and even locking "vise grip" style pliers...Knipex.......are just stupid fine tools.
http://www.knipex-tools.com
Download their catalog......get your lubricant and tissues handy .......moderately expensive....about like snap on....but damn fine and tough as nails. Ray |

I have been shopping them. I have a wicked pair of side cutters snd another pair of their pliers.....they have their own zipper bag.....
I have been drooling over those wrenches and will be gifting myself soon.
The Teng tools look nice as well....but I also am not a fan of the thick rubber handle covers. The Knipex tools.....awesome. Until I looked at Knipex....I though Klein were the best.
Their on-line catalog...is just pure tool porn.
Oh.....that....and some of the best allen tools......Wiha....especially their "Magic ring" screw holding allen keys

Thanks for posting this. I'm always looking for quality (not kwality) tools that are reasonably priced (pay once, cry once). I have a Hazet ¼" ratchet set that ran me $160 a few years ago that amazed me with the fit of the sockets on a bolt.
This is what an open end wrench should look like:
Other quality tool manufacturers are Koken and Stahlwille, but some of their items can get pricey.
Right now, I'm on a search for quality screw drivers. I'll never waste money on Craftsman or anything from Harbor Freight ever again. I was looking at Kobalt tools at Lowes, but the feel of the wrenches was off. One trick to buying quality wrenches my dad taught me is to take two end wrenches and hang one off of a finger in one hand, and the other wrench off of a finger on the other hand. Swing the wrenches so they hit each other. If the wrenches produce a ringing sounds when they hit then they're quality. If they clunk, then they're garbage. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Those Teng wrenches look very nice!
The Knipex screwdrivers are very high quality.....but....virtually all of what they make are electrically insulated which is what Knipex specialty is.
https://www.knipex.com/?id=1216&L=1&page=group_detail&parentID=1324&groupID=1524
Another tool line that is just super high quality.....is PB Swiss Tool. They are the only people whose Allen wrench tools can beat Wiha. There is a video on YouTube about how they are made.
http://www.pbtools.us
Their screw drivers are just superb quality.
http://www.shop.pbtools.us/Screwdrivers_c4.htm
I am in the same boat you are. Its just hard to find good screwdrivers any more except for.....oddly enough.....those Eklind brand multi-bit screwdrivers you can still buy at Ace Hardware. The quality of those is surprisingly high. I have never damaged a bit/tip on one.....but their range is limited.

Added some new Teng Tools.
Something I always wanted was a portable toolbox like the Hazet Cantilever or Barn style.... Saw Teng offered a great Promo Deal on this complete set and I could not pass it up.
Included the slick Barn Style Toolbox with a complete set of ratchets, sockets, wrenches, etc.... on the side I also purchased the new Teng Non Slip Wrenches which look interesting. I plan on giving them a whirl soonly.
The socket trays slide out of the box if I want to quickly move them from my master toolbox at home into this portable box to take in the road. Slick!
Inside the box you can grab the small Teng Tool handles to lift off the ratchet and wrench storage to reveal storage down inside for larger things like hammers, saw, etc...
