havent found much data on the coolant temp sensor for the gsuge display and blinking light. what is the test procedure for the gauge if you dont have a vw tool what voltage or resistance ? i have searched threads but have no found no conclusive info. how to test temp sensor for failure? how to test gauge and wires from sensor? is there a circuit diagram in bently i have not found it.
any help is appreciated. _________________ i see said the blind man to his deaf dog

Ahwahnee your post is greatly appreciated thanks , that is a great thread with a lot of good info, it looks like the temp gauge sensor is a rtd temperature device and not a thermocouple, so the resistance goes down or varies inversely as temp goes up. this means there is a constant current and the voltage varies as the resistance changes with temp. rtd's have a very linear relationship between resistance and temperature so only two measurements at different temps should be needed to check calibration. _________________ i see said the blind man to his deaf dog
