I removed an old top to fix rust around the lip, and frame (and the top was falling apart) I now know the job of reinstalling a top is more complicated than I realized. I have the vinyl top (outer shell only) no padding or headliner. Can I install just the vinyl top without the rest? And if it's yes, can I reinstall the old window in just the vinyl, or does it require the padding and headliner in order to install correctly. AND if I haven't lost you at this point, has anyone installed a window that has a "built -in" fused plastic window. Alright, I'm a VW newbie, and if all this is just a waste of your time don't bother telling me so, just if you have any experience with a situation like this, I would appreciate your input.
