sunroof retaining strip - rear

the rear sun roof retaining strip removed from my 66 deluxe bus is wood- most pics I have seen seem to be of a metal strip. Does anyone know what was original? And also the thickness of the strip?

It’s metal. I believe about 3mm thick. Don’t know exactly - can‘t measure right now. I have never seen anything made out of wood on the sun roofs though...
