Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before but on the front drum brakes in a Split should the flexible brake hose be connected to the top or bottom wheel cylinder? At present mine is connected to the bottom but when you turn the steering is doesn't look correct. Or does anyone have photos of theirs please. Thanks.

Stock should be on top, unless its a lowered Bus. Double check in the gallery section though. Any Bus category, type in brakes..

I just finished doing my fronts recently and like Johny Utah said , the hose goes to the top wheel cylinder. There should also be a guide bracket that the hose goes through before it attaches to the wheel. I'm on a tablet computer without access to my photos but if you do a search in the "Gallery" section on this site there should be something. Good luck.

Anyone have an off-the-shelf part for the spacer to hold the hose?

Bentley Manual shows split surround installed after the hose it appears. The part is not listed in the parts manual.

If your split rubber is missing from that hose holding bracket, you could cut a strip of bicycle inner tube and wrap it around the hydraulic brake hose a few times until the brake hose is snug (not too tight).

A piece of 3/8" fuel hose works well.
