Speedo Ribbon Cable

Hi,

Does anyone know what this blue ribbon cable is for - looks like it should slot into a piece that says "abgriff" on the bak of the speedo.

The "abgriff" piece is levered as if the ribbon should slotted in and then be held by the lever but there is no tension to hold it and I am worried it might come lose once the dashpod is put back in.

Any ieas?

piece in the spedo head breaks out for a cruise control speed sensor... no idea what the pcb goes too.. but it does NOT goto it

The ribbon is normally attached to a speed (aka Hall) sender for a Golf II-era (often MFA) cluster (part #321907345B).

Like the others said and abgriff is German for pickup [signal pick up].
