That thing looks pretty bad-ass! Are you going to run a stock VW body??

completely tubular frame, aluminum side panels with painted on flames, of course. i will be working on it mainly on weekend and continue to update you guys on the samba. once i get the 3x3 rear arms, i'm looking at a wheelbase of just under 130", just under 3' longer than my super's 96 or 98 inch wheelbase

and thanks for the positive comments...im just gettin' started!!!

On those 3x3 arms, where are you planning on getting them from? Are you going to go plate or tubular. Just curious because I hope to be starting baja project and am wanting others ideas on what they are using! Thanks, I'll keep watching the updates.

i was just thinking plate, tubular is too expensive i think. 225 for steel from pacific customs or vee dub parts unlimited, one of those two. and i was thinking maybe 930 cv's from Transform in long beach

You should go all out and hook up a complete fire suppresion system similar to those on race cars. That would be bad! What about these arms: http://www.blindchickenracing.com/ForSale/suspensionparts/suspension_parts.htm They are expensive but pretty cool. Let me know if you are looking for any sway away parts as I have a good line on them. Anything from t-bars to coil-overs.

Yeah, I called there and talked to one of the guys. They are real cool and the best is they can built them in all differnet configurations. I think they can even do 5x5!!! Now that would be a wide ass end.

i figure, once i get the brake setup i want on the rear, i'll measure the drum to drum width of the front, then the drum to drum of the back and set the width of the arms to match. and about 3" longer or so. opinions?

i dont know yet Very Happy i'd like to get those eventually replaced with stiffer springs and use the stock springs from 65 still on the bottom. as for now, jumping on the mounted front end seems to prove a soft ride. i might slap a set of coil-overs on there once i finish the frame

the plan is mostly for street driving, but lots of hell raising on the weekends. as you can see, currently i've got stock front arms, but i dont konw how long that will last. maybe a month or two at the most before i get longer ones. since i didnt know what shock i was going to use, i got the beam without the upper mounts so that i could fab my own into the chassis. i'll let you know when its time for some new suspension stuff. you seem to have the connections Cool
