New to buggies not new to vw's. picked this poor thing up locally guy says just haul it off it's yours. So seams like a good project to let my son learn mechanics on.

Looks like an excellent start to the addiction of Buggies.
Many of us have started with a buggy body in poor condition and made great drivers out of them.
Have Fun and start a build page with lots of pics....we love pics and builds..... _________________

ill definitely see about starting a build thread. for being neglected so far it seems in pretty fair shape. Floor pans and a gas tank are the major things so far. My son and I went through a quick once over of the engine (which appears to be a type 3) if i'm not mistaken. rolled it through checked all the valve settings, plugs quick oil change, put together a test wire harness cranked it over and it started right up and sounds pretty strong. You have never seen a happier kid than when he turned the key after all that work this morning and it started. From some looking around and comparing pictures it appears this may be a corsair body, anybody know any different or how to tell for sure I cant find any sort of id tag on it. |

Yes the wheels are classic! Always wanted a set of those.
Are you going to reinstall the lawnmower too? _________________ '56 pan Dune Buggy since '69

Sure wish I had an old man who found 'good C'hit' like this! Good for both of you.
