No I'm out of the search for now, gonna make some money, get a bus for myself and not wait on my step mom. She's done looking for one because one guy was a jerk. I'll be on the hunt for a '74-'79 Westy in any color but beige....

The first has a type 1 motor the second has no motor or wiring harness.

Not a damned thing, the tow home would eat up anything you could make parting it & crushing the rest.

Pick this one up on your way back from frying your retinas, although I think you've been staring at the sun a little too long already.

Or even this one & sell off the Rabbits

Well he is asking $1600 for the '74 or $1000 without the motor and he said less for the '76 or '77. I know they aren't worth that. He says because the interiors and the parts on them he could get that. I'm gonna pass and he said he's not negotiable.

If he wants to pull the parts, clean them up, photograph them, list them in various places, answer questions about them, possibly package and ship them, meet a guy who's picking them up.. go right ahead.

Oh, then he can repeat or the next $200 item he pulls from the bus.

Those will cost more to move than they are actually worth in value.

Good choice to pass on those, 67ctbug. Either of them would have put you in the funny farm within a month. Laughing

Glad to see you're learning to pass on the crusty ones, but it would help if you stopped looking at 'em in the first place.
Just keep chanting this mantra: "Rust is not my friend."

How much would I pay for those New England Nightmares? All I can think to say is something sarcastic and snide.

his asking price is about in line, really. I sold a complete late bus interior for around 1K...so there is parts value.

but for the o/p's purpose...not worth it.

I agree with Skills. The pop tops alone bring in nice coin.

Now only if this guy from the U.K. Needed a late bay top.

Yeah but at $1600, I would make the money off of the interior and top, but then what else is there to sell off of it. The metal is basically toast. Step mom wouldn't want to pay to have a bus getting pieces taken off of it either so... I would enjoy it though Laughing

Didn't say, but he did say it would be cheaper on account of it lacking an engine and wiring harness. I'll call him back tomorrow.

Except they never want to do the work

They put a crappy picture in the ads and then say " part out" then wait for you to come to do the work

Oh, sorry, the pop top had a big crack in it...didn't notice.

Best thing to do is to turn the tax guy onto them to help fund your schools. If they want Friends and Family PayPal, send a note to the taxman.

Any money to be made off of it? It is a parts bus overall even he says it's a parts bus.
