For what its worth. I have a little 500 Watt heater that keeps the interior of my hard top plenty warm enough for sleeping even down to 0°F outside. Doesn't take much of a cord to run it. Cord size just never really enters into the equation if the heater is the only use I am apt to put the cord to. Its important to make sure you have an adapter (30 amp?) as many places do not have a 15-20 amp receptacle.
