I'm restoring / building a customers Split Beetle engine and want to address the intake manifold so I can send it out along
with the single tip muffler to be ceramic coated grey at the same time. I've reached out to John Henry several times already
as I have seen his excellent work but have not received a response back?
Is there anybody else that is capable of restoring these rare/delicate jacketed "K" intake manifolds? As you can see,
the dreaded "thin" heat riser tubes need to be replaced. Don't need any cosmetics done, just the heat risers repaired.
Thanks for your help. Via con Dios amigos! Mr. Okrasa

John has been on vacation for the past few weeks but I think he is back now. He's the best one to do this work and he may have a manifold already restored to swap so you can keep moving on the build.
I'd try PM here as well as his email and be patient. He's the right one for the job. |

Hi Nancy
Hope all is well with you and your loved ones....Your beetle is looking sharp!
I thought there was a good reason why John was not responding. Glad to hear he's taking time away from the "daily grind".
To answer several requests......YES! I'm building complete, turn-key engines again. For awhile I was only doing longblocks
as I had a L O N G waiting list but now that i'm caught up, I'm accepting engine builds for the summer. Cheers! _________________

Legs are made. Another customer's JK is setting up epoxy on the jig right now, will epoxy this one up in the next day or two.

Joe,
John Henry did my 1950 K intake and it looks amazing! I mean amazing!
A big thank you to John! Joe, can you tell me what parts on the engine you prefer to ceramic coat? intake and muffler?? and what parts to powder coat and maybe what to paint? I know some prefer to paint engine tins because if they have any dings they can be fixed easier with small amounts of body filler and you can't powder coat over that area. Just asking? Tim |
