Just bought this from a craigslist ad. 1968 Sand Shark on a '61 pan. Original metal flake gelcoat, PO had it clear coated really lights it up. Stock looking likely 1500 or 1600 single port engine, runs excellent, could stand to be cleaned up a little. Plans are to do something about the seats and the dash and steering column are pretty hacked up too. I wish it had about 20 less snaps on it and I don't care for the mirrors on the fenders, but it's all part of it's history. It came with new tires, still had bits of the stickers on them, some new wheel cylinders and brake lines, and lots of neato paperwork that I'll post up when I get a chance. I found reference to it in the dunebuggyarchive, so I can trace it back three owners. I bought the top from Berrien. I also wish it didn't have the cutout above the engine, but the Harley Davidson air filter makes it all better.

The PO made me aware of this youtube video he found, obviously the same car.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1yET9QJJso
The video is labeled Sand Shark Dune Buggy 1680cc, but I see duel port end castings that aren't present now, so no help there. I have those wheels in the video, they came as an extra set with the car. I wish the dash still looked like that! |

So did you buy this one instead of the one in the other thread or are you looking to pick up another for a his and hers package?
I like the stock Chevy rally wheels look. Very nice. |

Not sure which other car you're referring too, but we can always use more toy cars (or so I convince myself). Actually we just sold one, the insurance bill was getting out of hand. The Chevy rally wheels really appealed to us too. I just bought an extra set of original metal center caps off ebay just in case I ever lose one. |

Sorry, confused you with the poster of another thread. Just saw the SS badging, nice touch with double meaning! |

I scanned and uploaded these, but just now went back and read from beginning to end. Check out the tire pressure specs on page 10, now there's some validation. |
