Hi
A friend of mine bought a late super (74) the other day, he also has an early drivetrain coming from a 1302 with a pair of three bolts disc spindles on it.
I know it's possible to fit a late drivetrain on an early super with some minor changes (something related to the sway bar and a hole or a thread to widen iirc ??) but is it possible the other way round ? What modifications are needed ?
Thanks !

Note: post edited because I incorrectly said he had 944 spindles on the early drivetrain.

944 spindles only work with the late super 2 bolt front, the 71-73 3 bolt super front is very different strut, spindle and control arm setop.

You'd need to keep the 74 control arms and sway bar and swap the spindles

Are you sure ? Because I saw these spindles and they have three bolts as the early super spindles. So either they are not 944 spindles (I don't know what they are supposed to look like) or there is something I don't understand there.
Thanks.

Edit: ok sorry I indeed made a mistake they are not 944 spindles but standard 3 bolts VW disc spindles, I'll edit the first post to avoid any confusion. So let's forget these nonexistent 944 spindles and focus on the main problem, is it possible to swap a late and early drivetrain on a late super ?

Thanks !
Did you have any problem when you swapped the suspensions or is it straightforward ?
