Big tube bumpers front and back.
I hope it isn't headed for Mexico.
Oregon plates.
099 JHH
Taken from Las Vegas sometime today after 2 pm.
I must've forgotten to put on the brake lock.
I've been living out of this so I am pretty much pooched here. Not a good time.

No, it was parked in a company lot where I had just taken a job, and disappeared while I was at work.
Company knew my van.
Someone else got it.
Thanks for the idea though.
I also ran it through autoreturn.com, so it doesn't look like it was towed.
Funny thing is I have always had a set habit of putting on the brake lock, pretty sure I put it was on the clutch.
If I forgot it was the first time I did in a year at least, so then they either got around it or they're driving it without the clutch pedal.
I'm so seriously bummed out right now. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

Man thats a wicked bummer.
From my experience with stolen vehicles (im not stealing them) they are usually used for transportation like bikes and then ditched.
Im crossing my fingers for ya.
From here in the car theft capitol I know your pain. Had four cars stolen in 20 years. All recovered on south side pretty mush still intact.
Buenos suerte amigo. _________________ Support Small Business.

I can send out a notification to VanAlert members in order to keep an eye out for it but I need a few more things.
Date it was Stolen: June 15, 2017
City/State: Las Vegas, NV
Year & Model: 1985 Vanagon
Color of Vanagon: Beige
Any features to help locate: White fiberglass high top, large black tube bumpers on front and rear, Mercedes 16" CLK wheels, smoked out tail light and front turn signals, larger side view power mirrors. Non camper so no camper hookup boxes on driver's side panel. Stock round headlights/grill on the front.
State & PL Number: Oregon 099JHH
Your First Name: Levi
Your Email Address:
Your Phone Number:
So the license plates are Oregon issue? Not Nevada issue like what's shown in the photo? Was the front nose mask on the van at the time it was stolen? _________________ Abel Longoria

Sorry to hear of the theft. Get some rest, hopefully the van was stolen for joyriding, and turns up quickly. |

Got the info updated and will send out a notification this morning.
Hopefully you got a police report filed. I think the vans that get to Mexico do so before the owner has a chance to fill out a stolen vehicle report. Delay in filed police report means it gives thieves time to cross the border before the license plates are registered in the system as stolen. |
Report was filed at 1am, but they could have taken it anytime after 2pm, so almost 11 hours. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

Can someone remind us which authority should be contacted if it's suspected that a stolen vehicle will be taken into Mexico? I believe it was mentioned in the SD stolen van thread last week.
Also, Kamz and Dave, perhaps Abel's thread (Every van owner should do this...) should be in the FAQs with other must-dos that help when a van is stolen.
Theft preventatives and fire preventatives seem to fit side-by-side.
Thanks! _________________ - Jim
