Holy guacamole, is that in nice shape, or what?!
Here's hoping you keep it stock. _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Mending old things, preserving them, looking after them – on some level there's no rational grounds for it.”

This is one I struggle with. Love the car and won't find a nicer one with a great story. But I want one to drive. I really don't want to rack up the miles on this one. If I keep it, a Roof rack would be the only add on for me. |

It also came with the original owners manual, manual for the gas heater. Last registration and a log notebook of some repairs and fuel stops. |

It lived a few miles north of Prince Albert. Just over an hour drive from Warman. |

Really nice. But don`t stick an EMPI roof rack on that clean original car. If you have to put a rack on it at all, find an original VW one. _________________ If you`re going to do something, do it right. |

Extremely nice find, I'm jealous!
Be very careful with the seat covers, they split easily. I would find another set of seat for actual use and save those for display only. They are impossible to find as they're one year only and they're not being correctly reproduced. _________________ Strive for perfection in everything. Take the best that exist and make it better. The boxing is the wrong color, there shouldn't be "tie downs" in the seat bottoms, and I believe the pleats in the face are sewn instead of heat sealed. I have NOS covers for my '64 and I haven't seen any reproductions that match them. _________________ Strive for perfection in everything. Take the best that exist and make it better. There's been a grave injustice!!!
Why have mice visited my beetle twice just this winter and your car looks like it was kept in a brain surgeon's incubator?
Is Canada unfriendly to our rodent friends? Want me to send you some? _________________

Very good info on the seats. Thank you. I have no intentions of modifying the car at all. It is only original ones. At this point in time I am not even going to wash the car until I decide what I am doing with it. It can just go into storage in the meantime. As for the mice, yes we have lots of mice here but there are no signs of mice in the car. All I can think of is that the place it was at had lots of cats. If I decide to drive it, I will have to go through the brake system. Is there any specific brands or places to order that stuff from that is better than others? |
