Hi Everyone. I tried to find this answer here but haven't been able to, I also asked the local VW dealer and the info was deleted out of their system.
On the Early 1984 1.9l DJ motor the code for the distributor is 025905205D, and the late 1984-85 is 025905205K. I'm looking for a backup distributor as these seem hard to find and my local wrecker has one. What if any is the difference between K and D? thanks so much.

There was a change in the electrical connection at some point. Otherwise any distributor from that era should work for you. Another possible difference is if the vacuum dash pot has one or two fittings. That is solvable. The last difference, which I am making up is maybe the late 1.9 engines had a digifant engine management and would require a very different distributor.

1.9 is DH not DJ. DJ is 112HP 2.1L.

If they went from D to K as a supercession, you can retrofit them.

All 1.9L EFI were Digijet even in Europe ...
