Hi,
Having a no spark condition on an '84 with Digijet. I am pretty sure its the hall sender, but I just wanted to verify that on Digijet the ECU is not involved with spark? I see a lot of posts about the ECU being a possible culprit in a no spark situation--some even suggest that an ECU problem is much more likely than a hall sender issue--but does that apply to Digijet?

according to the Digijet Pro Training manual, the ECU provides two outputs:
- actuation signal for the fuel injectors
- ground signal for the fuel pump relay
The image below shows a wire between the Ignition control unit and ECU but along with the manuals statements above I doubt that wire is involved here.
So yes, your issue could be due to the hall (ignition control unit) but it could also be a faulty wire(s) or connection(s) etc. (e.g. ignition switch) and would suggest checking those first as does the manual. Replacement of the hall is last on the list.
If you search here, you should be able to find an active link for that manual which has a trouble shooting guide for the hall etc.

It was the hall generator. Expensive little part!
