I am trying to install the Front Transmission Intermediate Mount, Bolt In (NO WELDING!).
When the urethane bump stops are against the frame horns the holes in mount miss the studs by about 3/8".
I thought about putting a jack under the mount but it doesn't seem like the urethane will compress enough.
Do I need different bump stops?
The floor pan is a '72 if that makes any difference. |

Same thing here...I just tossed it under the bench and forgot about it. maybe someone can answer and help us both. I thought it was my front mount, but it is installed correctly. _________________ David Richerson

First off, I know i made stupid decisions that led to my predicament, so while you are welcome to tell me that I am an idiot for doing the things I did, please know that I am already aware of this. |

Right now, with the nuts off the new studs, my transmission is leaking a little oil so I would like to resolve it soon.
One suggestion was to grind some off the urethane blocks. I would have to take about 3/8" off the top. |

Try lifting the drivetrain with a floor jack. Someone posted about this a couple months ago. Which brand do you have? _________________ Neil.

The brand is Moore.
As I said above, I thought about putting a jack under the mount but I didn't think the urethane would compress enough.
The drivetrain would have to be lowered to make the mount fit under the frame horns.
Thanks for your reply. |

I have the Mohr Performance mount, which I believe the Moore brand is copied from. It's been many years, but I recall having to jack up either the back of the gearbox or the mount itself. _________________ Neil.

I sanded my urethane mounts with a flap wheel until it was just right. 57.5 second adjustment. _________________ 62 vert

Yes, I did the same. On my 1963 bug, I Sanded the urethane blocks down about 3/8".
Bolted up easy after that. _________________ 1973 Type 181 - 2016cc - 091 trans

I had to sand mine as well on the original Mohr mount. Sand them to fit against the frame horns tightly. |

I noticed in the picture on the Moore website that the top of the urethane blocks is below the top of the steel tube.
On mine, the urethane blocks extend above the top of the steel tube.
Maybe I have the wrong urethane blocks. |

I thought the same thing and was sent exactly the same ones when I did mine. I think I was dealing with Cip at the time. |
