Hi all, Newbie here,
Some of you might recognize my name from the 912BBS.
I'm a charter member of the 912 Registry.
I have a question....
Question...My cousin owns a 1988 930 Turbo Carrera documented(COA) factory slant nose with an Andial racing engine. It's got 82,000 on the ODO and less miles on the engine. Beautiful inside and out.Factory leather sport seats, deep Fuchs, the works. Scary fast!!!
It's only problem is that it's on a salvage title. Absolutely NO signs of any major damage repair. Several Porsche experts have agreed it must have been a paper problem or it was a recovered stolen car. My cousin bought it about 5 years ago with the salvage title. Now he's retiring and afraid he's gonna kill himself in it. It's too fast for him and he wants to sell it.
What's it likely to sell for??? thanx... |

Hey Mike, haven't been on the BBS in a long time, No German air cooled cars right now
Ebay eBay eBay, especially if it's clean. Maybe a DEA car. Take a billion pictures and some videos of it driving.
I can't give an estimate till I see it but lots.

Hey Eric,
Hmmm..DEA or one of the other alphabet agencies. I never thought of that. Very possible.
Ebay would be a likely suspect for advertising. I have some other places to try also, but I need a baseline value.
I know the car is very desirable and I don't think the salvage title will be a deal breaker especially with a foreign buyer.

I would look at what a 930 turbo is going for and use that as the reserve. Most people today in 2017 will not pay more for a slant nose. Papers or not. Crazy racing engine? Maybe if it's super documented. But that's also saying someone beat on the car and the title doesn't help.
Personally if I win the powerball I'll be calling you, but I'm an 80's kid and that's the ultimate to me
Nobody can see the title as you're kicking their ass blasting around the foothills. It will affect the price but maybe not a ton
