Yup. For safety, I put a highback on my driver's side on my old '67. Fits perfectly.

I think there was three different versions of the 67 seats. Early, middle and late. They were all low backs. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

High backs serve the safety head rest requirement in the U.S. starting in 1968 Not so in some other countries. |

Ok Bill, I'll play. I am familiar with the 66-67 early seats. They have the seat back flip handle at the seat back pivot. Those often were broken by a careless rear passenger that put his weight on the handle and broke it off I need two!
And I am familiar with the late seats. Seat back release handle in the upper portion of the seat back. Problem with those was the plastic handles would become worn and fall off leaving a semi sharp metal stub sticking out of the seat back.
What is your perception of the mid-year seat? _________________ I have learned over the years.

From what I read a long time ago, the first few months production of the 67's had the seat back release at the bottom that were like the 66's. Then, they switched to the first seat you described then the final version with the release on the side of the seat back like 68's. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

This is the early 66-67 seat release lever I was referring to,
Likely 66.
Likely 67 . My 08/67 DD beetle had those. I need two.
A couple of my later 67's had this type of release handle.
Sorry I suck at searching galleries for the correct images. I couldn't find a seat back with the handle on the upper side outward toward the door.
So based on this post. Is there a 67 \seat release lever configuration that I have never seen? _________________ I have learned over the years.

Avenger, I think mine, before I took them apart, had the smooth knob with the pebbled escutcheon... Such odd combos for the '67 year. _________________ '67 Beetle L41
