I have a full westy and use the Dometic and a 38QT or 40QT Igloo cooler. Our family grew at the end of last year and we now have 3 (wonderful) kids and thus now required to take the middle bench camping.

We did our first camping trip 3 weeks back and everything went smoothly. But I am ina battle for what to do about upgrading our fridge...I think my ideal option would be a fridge chest like the Engel/ARB. I just reread the 9 pages of the topic "what removable freezer do you have" or whatever it is called, and lots of chest options listed there.

But my big question is, does anyone have one of these larger fridges (40qt or larger) and a middle seat installed?

Also, does anyone put the freezer in the back over the engine? everyone in the thread puts it behind the passenger seat...I figure it gets too heavy to lift to the trunk (since the unit itself weighs 50+ pounds empty) but thought I should ask.

Thanks for any pictures you have with a middle seat or the fridge installed in the rear.

If you need three rear seats (not 4) you might want to use a single middle seat. It will give you a lot more options for use of the space available.

Hey Dave,

Yeah...I've been looking for the last couple years. Some are in the classifieds, I've reached out to a couple of folks, but shipping just ruins the cost.

If you decide to part with yours let me know =) I do end up in MD fairly often to visit family.

I've got nothing helpful to offer, just wanted to say it was nice meeting you and it was inspirational to see you soloing it with two toddlers. No idea how you stored all those toys though!

You really just need the base shipped. The seat is just a front seat. That is what I did.

Not looking to sell mine, I do not use it often but am glad I have it when I need it. Very Happy

I'll send you my base for a decent price. I can ship it discounted at work. It won't be free but probably less than $50.

Sorry for the shameless plug, I really need it gone. It's in the classifieds.

Cool
