After several weeks of abandonment I continue with the project.

These are the wheels:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

2 are 15 "x 8.5" for back, and 2 for 15 "x 7" forwards. I have to fill in the holes because they are different from those of the beetle, and make them again.

This is with the floor ready, there are several reinforcements that I still do not put for some measures that I lacked.

Here my friend cleaning the floor:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

These stripes are welding that I did because the blades were left with bombs and every time I stepped on it they sank. (dustymojave I do not know if this part is well translated because I do not know how to explain it better) and so now it does not move.

---
Estas rayas son soldadura que le hice por que las laminas quedaban con bombas y cada vez que la pisaba se hundian. (dustymojave no sé si esté bien traducido esta parte por que no sé como explicarla mejor) y asi ahora no se mueve.
---

And so it is seen with the base of the painting:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

And so the body remained:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

There are many sides, like in front, that were separated but that's why I'm going to do all that, the body is very rusty and there is a lot of work to correct. This part will not do it, I do not have the experience (nor patience) for that.

And I think it will be higher than I thought, then measure to show how high the body was on the floor:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

I will continue updating in what has more work done.

I was not worrying about the translation, I was suggesting a name for the car.

I suggest you call it "EscaraBaja". As you say, people often call a VW Bug an "escarabajo". This is the word in Spanish for "beetle", the insect. But I suggest a little change to the word to put in "Baja". Your car is not only a "VW Beetle", it is a "Baja Bug". EscaraBaja is a simple play with words.

I think I understand.

When you step on the sheet metal, it bends down and makes a noise Boom! Then when you remove your foot, it makes the noise again and moves back up.

In America, we call that "beer canning". When you squeeze a beer can, it does pretty much the same thing.

After a long time without doing anything here I am again. Honestly, I'm reluctant to build the car given the conditions of the country, everything is extremely expensive, a kilo of welding electrodes worth about 800,000bs which is a minimum wage with the food bonus. Honestly this is shit and at this point I do not know if I finish it. Someday yes but I do not know how late. Finally, I began to make the anti-roll jail:

They are 32mm thick and 3mm thick tubes. There were some details that I will correct on the way.

So also the flange goes:

(I do not know what the translation for this would be like the engine adapter with the gearbox.)

Now I have to finish doing it myself, the friend who was doing it left the country and well I have to do it to be able to put that thing together.

Then I upload photos with the other spare parts that I have left to continue arming.

Wow, this is an amazing build of practical engineering and problem solving.

Good job!

Today I started to adapt the steering box:

It's from Corsa Opel. I made the base with 6mm sheet and put some reinforcements underneath, additional use a threaded bar to make a "U" to hold everything.

And here the engine adapter with the gearbox, here we say "flanche":

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Everything is easy to do, it is a matter of taking advantage of the precision of the lathe and making holes for the exact screws.

I had to weld a sheet on the outside, it's the first one I see here like this (there are for Renault, Opel, Toyota, Subaru and I never saw one like that):

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

And in the end my friend's dad cut the center after grabbing all the measures:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

After the "steering wheel" (I do not know how to say in English this piece) the center was cut and the same, make a hole for a hole with brand by brand:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

I miss the picture of the bearing of the axis of command, I put it another day, but it is also ready, I did it with the same vw nut.

After everything down everything remains to the same extent:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

And that is all for now.

The last week I did this:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

It was something I saw on YouTube, and I thought, if he could because I did not? And since that time I still do it. I made these pieces that are to adapt the acceleration body to put the injection engine.

Here it is too expensive to be able to use any programmable ECU, so I invented this and so far it works and this is from a job I do now

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

(So I have to do mine.)

I use an ECU of Corsa / Opel with its respective electric branch, until now I have installed it in Toyota engines (such as my buggy) Renault, Cavalier and others. So we forget the carburetors here.

Apart from that the round pieces are for the centering of the wheels, it just needs a little help from my friend and the winch and that's it.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

A part of that I was making a diagram of all the cables, and we keep saving, I have the 2 connectors that go in the ECU, I just lacked the sensors and I already have them, so I made a diagram to do it afterwards ahead:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

This is all for now, when I have more, I publish more.

Let's keep going. In these days I finally could put the rubbers, after doing the work to the "mosos" to fit the wheels:

There is my friend with the aluminum that I founded days ago:

I had to weld the asparagus because they had a larger wick than the one that was due (small details) but everything was left at the end:

I am very tall, it looks exaggerated but I like it.

I hope these days and to be able to mount the gearbox, engine and others, since I already buy the bases for that.

And additional my father-in-law gave me the 2 headlights for the brake lights, they are from a military car here, they are the same ones that I gave 4 years ago for my buggy:

We will continue informing.
