Merci!

I like a challenge so I did a little digging into this picture. The location is a filling station outside the old headquarters of "BV ARAL AG." 45 Wittener Str. Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Parts of the old HQ building still exist but now belong to BP and the once ARAL "flagship" filling station is sadly just an ARAL office block. This link shows the current street view...you'll have to copy and paste it into your browser to get it to work.

- A rear seat pile
- Etc .......................

And a bug convertible at the background of the hangar

1956/7 Pelican Red Coupe
Ice cool shot of a VW display. Check the detail of the counter area. Just see one of these ladies if you want a Ghia Colour Chart or two. Perhaps you might want to ask how you go about getting one with a sunroof, or is it true that a Cabriolet version will be out soon?

The beauty rings were always stowed inside the car. The 5 Lemmertz rings were date stamped...I still have the originals supplied with my '58.

Poor Oregonians... one of the last states to have service stations. I remember not trusting them to fill my beetle. "Be careful of the paint please." I would always ask.

I was a petrol Bowser boy back in the 60's; hook the pump in the tank on lock and wash the windscreen, while perving on the nice girls in the car, check the tyres and oil, don't get that anymore.
