Anyone own a food truck or trailer?

It seems like a lot around here have bought food trailers and haven't fully committed. By that, I mean they still have full time jobs. I'm going to be doing this full time. And like stared above, it's on wheels. I'll find a place or places that works.

We had a soft grand opening yesterday. Rain wasn't supposed to come till after 4:00. But it came right around 11 when we opened. Sold some food, things that I built and created all worked. Going to do it again next Saturday. Then full time in the near future.

whereabouts? The "empanada guy" owns most of Middlesex county. He has truck all over the place. They are hit or miss. I went once and ordered 2 chicken. Drove down the road to a park and eat, and when i bit into it it smelled like a fish one. And so did the 2nd one. So either he gave me lobster ones or the chicken ones had gone bad. I was low on time so i tossed them and called it a day. Lots of hot dog trucks on my run in Monmouth and Ocean counties too. here's his link http://www.empanadaguy.com/

I moved out of Jersey. Not too far though, I'm in Aberdeen, MD and that's where we have a spot to sell.
And yeah, that empanada guy is all over NJ. He has plans to expand outside the state. But, I don't like his product too much. And have heard some bad things randomly. But, they always have lines.

ahh MD ok. Yes his product is average at best and yes he gets lines. There are some good ones here in NJ though. The Pork Roll truck is on point!!!

Been selling away and it's still winter. Making money and making rent. Spring and summer will be big, I'm convinced.
The lot I rent is gravel with electric supplied for a bunch of food trailers. I'm the only active one right now. Then in the back it's all grass with a stage. They attempted to have bands a few times. I just look at the set up and invision a VW show. Not far off Rt95 on W Belair Ave in Aberdeen, MD.

need to have some vw meatings there at your trailer too..and mustang and camarrooww's too.along with the vette club's.and of corse have a few give aways and donate to the clubs "chairity"...the lacal clubs chairity is beer & cook out .....I think they give whats left to some shelter after their big party from their proceeds from their"car show".....I reckon a bag of dog food to a sheleter is better than none at all.

I used to deliver all the bread and buns to the Nebraska State Fair, and the amount of money some of the concession stands were making was unbelievable. Most of them did a 6 fair circuit with Iowa right before Nebraska, and then Missouri and Oklahoma right after that--they worked two or three months a year and called it good.

This was back in the 1970's when buns didn't cost a nickel apiece, but at the end of the 10 day fair it was nothing for me to have sold them several thousand dollars worth of product. One guy who had a Polish sausage stand had a Cadillac with two big tool chests bolted into the trunk, and when he paid me he'd open a drawer and pull out a stack of cash. By the end of the week those things were so full he couldn't get the drawers closed.

Another guy who had a little hole in the wall corndog stand used to be the sales manager for Pepsi Cola in Dallas/Ft Worth. He studied the business he was doing at the Texas State Fair and realized he was on the wrong side of the counter. He quit Pepsi and told me he made more in 6 months working part time than he ever did with Pepsi. He'd do a few fairs and then the rest of the year he would set up in mall parking lots whenever he got bored or needed some quick cash.
