Are those copper brake lines ? |
Correct. |
Yikes! I don't even think you're allowed to run those in Canada |
With well-made double flares these copper lines are very common here in Europe.
Only used without ABS. |
Are they simple Copper or Cunifer? (Copper, Nickel, Iron alloy) _________________ Andy

These are copper, strong enough and quit easy to make with the right tools. Cunifer is also possible, but is only a bit more difficult to deform. |

Yes, a special copper magnet does. |
How about trying a normal magnet? _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Just did a WWW search for copper brake line, and got the below among many others:
"JEGS NiCopp Nickel Copper Brake Lines | JEGS
JEGS NiCopp Brake Lines are a seamless copper nickel alloy tubing DOT approved for hydraulic brake systems. They are strong as steel, rust proof and easier to work ...
[Search domain www.jegs.com] jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performance-Products/JEGS-NiCopp-N..."
So maybe the ones you have are this alloy instead.... _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Last week I finished the inside of the roof, next step is the outside.

Latest changes; new paint inside and outside of the roof.
Also canopy and lifting rod mounted with stainless screws.

All the metal parts of the roof have a fresh paint, some parts were really nasty.
The roof vent covers have been mounted, with enough sealant to make it waterproof.
Also the roof hoops have some new paint.

Finally the Dormobile roof on top of the bus.
The front hinge wasn't easy to mount in the pre-drilled holes, the other two were easy.
The canopy is still loose, but it gives a good idea how it finally will be.

I had to weld to fill up some holes in the lifting arms.
After that I marked the holes from the mounting strip from the long side of the canopy.
Then made holes in the roof and the canopy.
After mounting the strip I could put the Dormobile roof in the upper position.
The next step will be the fixing of the front and rear part of the canopy.

I bought another cabine seat because ours was not complete anymore.
I only had to weld some tabs for the upholstery.
And I drilled all the holes in the bus roof for the canopy.
Of course all the holes were treated with zinc epoxy.

Today I sealed the inside and outside of the canopy to the roof of the bus.
I guess we gonna have a lot of comfort and fun with this Dormobile roof.

Together with the brake pipes, I ordered them here:

The rest of the roof has been isolated also, including damper plates.

Today I assembled the LH front door.
Also I put damper plates and isolation inside of the door.

Beautiful bus, beautiful work.
I'd be afraid of using that type of foam for insulation or sound deadening, as it's very much like a sponge and will hold water. It'd be such a shame to encourage rust in such a gorgeous bus that you've invested so much love, effort, and money into. |

Agreed, not a good idea to put anything against the inside of the front doors, especially something that will act like a sponge. Rust never sleeps.... _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

I know what you mean, but this X-Trem is flexible moisture-proof insulation material specially meant for this purpose. It does not absorb so no worries about the sponge effect. |

Today I mounted the LH side front door.
Also the other doors are now equipped with the belt-line parts.
