I purchased a 78 bus that had a performance built 2000 in it. The motor requires some attention so while I am deciding what to do with it I am putting in a stock 1700 with dual 34's on it. The pump in the bus is a high flow so I understand I will need to change it out. A friend suggested a rotary style at about 2 to 3lbs PSI.
Can anyone make a recommendation on a pump. In my research I am not seeing rotary's less than 3.5.
Thanks! _________________ Is it normal that I am still learning about my first bus, and am reading classified ads for other busses? |

there has been much discussion about this over the years, and you will get many different replies about it.
my personal recommendation is to get a Pierburg 912 FPMP, and be sure to put a filter inline BEFORE it.
Also use the 321 906 059C relay. it's easy to wire in and is a good safety measure.

Thank you! I never seem to use the correct search terms to find relevant info. I am a simple guy so this is perfect! _________________ Is it normal that I am still learning about my first bus, and am reading classified ads for other busses? |

I will absolutely be installing a relay / cutoff switch. I am super paranoid about the fire issue. While I was at it, I pulled the tank, replaced all the hoses with fuel injection rated hose and clamps, filler neck etc. I inspected everything 4 times, and still may never put gas in it _________________ Is it normal that I am still learning about my first bus, and am reading classified ads for other busses? |

I've used a few of these. 3/4 were good, 1/4 was DOA but Amazon replaced it with no questions asked and no bother to return the dead one, so I got a few free parts.
I like that it can go in the same place as an FI rotary pump. _________________ John
