Opening up a business with 3-5 dune buggies for rent and I am having trouble finding an insurance company that wants to insure me. They are titled as 69-72 vw beetles so that is now what I tell the companies just to see if they will do that. I see companies around doing the same business just elsewhere.
Any leads are greatly appreciated!!!!

Telling an insurance company that it's a Beetle and not a dune buggy is fraud. Don't do it because they can deny any claim and it might be criminal.
Insuring a dune buggy is hard enough, but as rentals... i'd say near impossible. And it surely will be expensive.

You can’t insure them as beetles as Glenn points out.
You might want to take a ide and pick these guys brains.

| Plus, you're in PA. You'll need each of those buggies to be subjected to the "enhanced inspection" to be re-issued a VIN and inspected for registration. Don't even think about keeping them registered as Beetles. One state trooper stop, and your business is shut down. |

After you get everything sorted out above then your best luck will be trying to find a commercial policy from a company like Chubb, WSIB, or K&K . Im not sure how they handle vehicle insurance but you are going to need the commercial insurance anyway.
It would also be in your best interest to make each of the dune buggies its own LLC as well.

There was a guy who did rentals in Ocean City Maryland. You might try a search and buy him a beer.

| Progressive insurance runs a yearly atv/side by side event every summer in New Hampshire.its called Jerricho.i went last year incredible and u get to ride atv,s down the main roads and trails all week.alot of fun.they r a huge atv/side by side insurer.i would check with them if anyone.u can google it on youtube and see that they promote the event.great ins co. |
