Need to restore a set of door panels for my Capri Blue L335 car. I am considering building new panels, then re-stretching the old vinyl over the new panels. Then spray with a matched SEM vinyl spray. My question is how do you handle the map pocket? It is made of the same material as the center panel as the doors but it is gathered so much it seems like the vinyl spray would not adhere when so bunched up. What have you guys done to restore the pocket area?
Thanks

I wonder if you could get just the pocket from one of the vendors, and add it to your restored panels? _________________ Plate of shrimp |

I am in the middle of doing the same thing on a set of 58/59 panels. I have the new cards made already, but unfortunately the project is in hold for now.
My method was to take the elastic out of the top of the pouch and then carefully cut under the heat seams around the edges so that it can lay flat(ish) for spraying, and then eventually be glued to a new piece of vinyl for the back side of the pouch.
Of course, I haven't gotten to the final step of reassembling it yet, so I can't say how well that will actually go, but disassembling it seemed to me like the only way to restore it using the original material.
