We are caravaning a couple buses and 9 of us total missoula to Jasper to Canmore and back again. Leaving tomorrow and plan atleast five days along the icefields parkway. Anyone other vanagoners going be up there this week? This is a new adventure for all of us. We have kids ages 2-13 and a few adults. Other than the wildfires and camp fire restrictions, the trip should be incredible. Any tips from seasoned veterans? Be on the look out for burgundy syncro westy and a blue multivan |

Top tip from seasoned vet
Campsite reservations https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/voyage-travel/reserve
Breakfast at Coyotes in Banff, if it is still on the menu the French toast stuffed with fruit.
Keep your campsites very clean, no food left out or coolers. If the Bears don't get you you will be asked to leave.
Great hiking around Maligne Lake, Jasper. Hike up to the tea rooms from the Chateau at Lake Louise. Don't worry about the crowds you leave them all behind 15 mins down the lake.
Have fun it's a great area. Well it's is better than great.

YEP!
I'd wager that it's the most scenic car sightseeing in north america!
The hike to the top of Mt fairweather right next to Lake louise has some great views from the top, I think its about 3,500' or so vertically and 4 miles one way or so. Swimming in Lake Louise is always a good way to get some endorphins going as well
Good hike to the south of Lake Louise as well, "Glacier point" I think? Not quite as much vertical gain, but a little longer. _________________

That is a spectacular drive, stop often and explore.
Be patient, we had some real dimwit drivers that slowed down randomly
every corner to take selfies. Going 30mph and veering off with no warning.
No awareness that they were holding up a line of 20+ vehicles behind them.
I wish that we had more than 5 days to explore banff and jasper.
Planning another trip in late sept.
The Jasper Skytram is not to be missed,
take a lunch and hike up the ridge (on a clear day).

Please don't drive bunched up, spread yourselves out, if you get anyone close behind pull over on the shoulder slow down and let them by. Respect any signs restricting parking or road use. Don't drive off the road, it is an extremly frage environment _________________ Tencentlife said,
