it has a front bulkhead, so it used to have a front bench. That would acccount for the 9 seater designation.

Chassis numbers, VIN numbers and such work much differently in the US, Germany and in Brazil.

There are some people in germany with Brazil buses, have you reached out to the bullikartei yet?

certainly a rare bus outside of Brazil

Congrads.
It is a 9 seater, the front sits 3 like what mandraks said.

The VIN number looks correct for a brazil made bus.
There should be a VIN plate riveted somewhere in the vehicle, check the vent area where the VIN usually is riveted on german buses.

It should also be stamped somewhere in the engine bay, but I remember seeing a few later brazilian buses having similar chassis number configuration as yours.

I think for the most part the bus looks nice and would clean up well, except for the weird gutters.

This must explain why a lot of Brazilian busses have that piece of deluxe belt line trim up on the rain gutters.

What do you think about my restoration plans?

-My first plan was, just to get the main rust done and fix all the holes and rusty sheet metal. and put on only original parts.
But i think after all the body work it will loos all the used charming look.

-So this is my aktual plan in a short cut.
Fix and replace all the mechanic parts (Axes, Engine, steering..)
Take all screwed parts from the car body.
get the car body sand blasted.
cut out all the rotten metal sheets and replace the floor with an new metal sheet.
get the body done for new prime and painting
get the car painted in the original colors
new rubbers for the doors and windows
and replace broken and bad parts
...
i try to get the focus to the main parts: chassis, painting and mechanic.
The detail work can be made by time... there will be always something to do.

Who knew an online shop in Brasil where i can find good spare parts and sheet metal for the bus???

what do you think about my plans and what would you do with this car?

im grateful for you input! Idea Cool

sorry for my bad writing, i try to give my best!!! Rolling Eyes

Leave it on, it's original to the bus. Makes it unique.

We have a 1973 6 door, is there anyone here still who has restored one? Looking to see what year handles to buy from Wolfsburg West for the doors so we can lock them all from the outside. Also wondering where folk got their interior panels done.

Perhaps Ev. Needs to start a new Category for Brazil threads..instead of littering up German busses...just a thought.
