Dear all. I have a question. I have to put a new engine in my 1956 porsche T1 A. It has the original gearbox/transmission and I would like to know if I can buy a Super90 or SC engine to give me the extra grunt and put it straight in.

I have entertained the thought of getting a performance VW engine in there but if I can put a SC or Super90 that would be I think a better option.

So Firstly, which one would be better, an SC or Super90?

Secondly, does an SC fit? If yes what needs to be done to the flywheel/transmission if anything?

Thirdly, does a Super90 fit and again is there anything i need to do to make it work.

Thanks guys

They both fit. I have a 1969 912 engine in my T1. On the 912 you have to use a 6V flywheel and clutch. The SC has 5 more hp than the other two due to 1/2 point more compression...
